TONY Spence says his Myton Warriors side are in a confident mood as they bid to claim the Minor Premier League title at Thatto Heath.

But whilst a win for the Warriors would secure top spot ahead of the play-offs and cap a remarkable first season in the Premier Division, the Warriors will travel as the underdogs.

Reigning champions Thatto will want to spoil the party and avenge the 26-22 loss inflicted on them two weeks ago, as they look to cement their own play-off spot.

Spence told the Mail: "We are as confident as we can be, but for my players it will be the first time they have played at Thatto.

"I know from my Skirlaugh days that it's a hostile environment and the crowd get on top of you.

"My players know what's at stake and we need to go there and give a good account of ourselves, but not get too carried away."

Myton will be boosted by the return of England Internationals Jordan Precious and Lee Fewless, although Marc Donnelly is unavailable due to a hernia.

Carl Booth makes his return from a knee injury, but Chris Wainman and Gavin Drewery are missing.

"We have lost two players, but we have gained two of the lads coming back from tour," added Spence.

"We are lucky that we have a large squad. I will have a selection headache too because the starting 13 I go with will be massively important, along with who comes off the bench.

"If we are good enough to beat them we are the Minor Premiers and that's as good as winning the Grand Final for me.

"It means you have been the most consistent side and for us to do it in our first season would be a great achievement.

"But it could be one of four teams who finish top and that's exciting going into the last weekend."
