EAST YORKS: More than 50 hospital staff members have been praised for "going the extra mile" in caring for patients.

A special awards ceremony has been held to recognise the hard work and dedication of Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust community and therapy staff.

The staff work in the community and carry out a range of roles, including dental nursing, health visitors, district nurses and dieticians.

The awards are held in memory of Andree Borrett, the former lead for the podiatry and chronic wound service who died aged 49 in 2010 after suffering from a brain tumour.

The awards were set up shortly after her death to recognise those individuals and teams who go the extra mile in providing outstanding patient care.
