Stop the yo-yo diet
HULL: An event to highlight the dangers of yo-yo dieting is being held today.
HealthyRoutes Weight Management Services, which is part of City Health Care Partnership CIC is holding the awareness day today.
To help promote their free weight management services, HealthRoutes is launching Stop Yo-Yo Dieting Day.
Health promoters will be handing out information and offering advice at Queen Victoria Square in the city centre and Northpoint Shopping Centre on the Bransholme estate from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Visitors will be able to get advice and find out about free local programmes, as well as picking up a free yo-yo.
HealthyRoutes service manager Mark Doughty said: "Recent research has shown yo-yo dieting to be associated with health risks that can led to type 2 diabetes, heart problems and high blood sugar levels.
"Plus, the overall effect on your wellbeing of going through such a harsh dieting regime only to end up back where you started is extremely demoralising."
Six in ten people made new year's resolutions to lose weight, but half of them will have given up within three weeks.
