Surveyors in Ghana mercy mission to help poverty-stricken children
TWO Hull chartered surveyors are setting off on a mission to help a poverty-stricken region of Ghana.
Dominic Hooko, 51, and James Strawhorn, 31, both employees of property management firm NPS Humber Limited, are part of a 20-strong team jetting off to the West African state.

But the fortnight-long trip is not all work and no play.
Their employer has donated full Tigers' home and away kits for a charity league match between local schools.
Dominic, a dad-of-three, of Derwent Close, Cottingham, is heading the project for Freed UK – a charity he helped found ten years ago
He said: "I left the town in 1986, but it has not left my thoughts.
"It's where I grew up and I have to give something back.
"We are going to Nandom Hospital as a team of doctors, dentists, nurses, teachers, a joiner and other volunteers.
"First, we will formally open a £15,000 kitchen funded by well-wishers from our region and the rest of the UK.
"We will also sink a bore hole in Ko village, near Nandom, to provide clean water."
Ko Womens' Association, a self-help group which grows fruit and vegetables for the hospital kitchen, will also benefit.
"Water from the bore hole will help to provide a year-round supply of food ensuring children get a balanced diet.
"We also have a football coaching programme to train local PE teachers and a tournament between the local schools," Dominic said.
The group leave today and hope to touch down in the Ghanaian capital Accra tomorrow morning before a 12-hour bus ride to the remote town of Nandom in the Northern Region.
Its 62-bed hospital caters for a region of more than 10,000 people.
They will take medical books and materials to build a hospital library for use by visiting medical and nursing students.
