Talent Trail singer's perfect moment
Rob Bishop swept through the first heat of Talent Trail 2010, after receiving a perfect score from the judges.
The 22-year-old singer hit all the right notes with his three songs – Working Man by Rita McNeil, Karma Chameleon by Culture Club and This is the Moment from the Jekyll and Hyde musical.
Rob, from Grimsby, said he was delighted to take 30 points out of 30 from judges Martin Jones, Laurena Flax and Sandra Doy.
He said: "I'm a bit lost for words – that usually never happens.
"But it was well worth the journey and the crowd was brilliant. I want to go up and do it all over again.
"I'd better rehearse some more songs now."
Vocalist and piano player Gareth Orriss, 19, also secured a spot in the next round of Talent Trail.
The Hull University law student performed piano based songs Haven't Met You Yet by Michael Buble, Empire State of Mind by Alicia Keys and Your Song by Elton John.
He said: "It's a bit unexpected to be honest, but I'm really pleased.
"I'll be pushing forward now and trying to improve."
