CAMERON Stewart will sit down to discuss his Hull City future with manager Steve Bruce following stinging comments from his boss last weekend.

The 21-year-old winger, who has spent time on loan at Burnley this season, failed to grasp a chance to impress when returning to the City first-team in Saturday's 1-1 FA Cup draw with Leyton Orient.

'Dealing with disappointment': Hull City's Cameron Stewart was a big-money target last season but is now struggling to find first-team football.

It was a return which saw Bruce criticise Stewart's physical condition, and clearly now out of favour at the KC, Stewart's agent Peter Morrison says talks will be staged soon.

"I can't really comment on where Cameron goes next before we sit down and speak to Steve Bruce, which is what we will do," Morrison told the Mail.

"I don't want to be talking about potential moves for Cameron before talking to Steve, but perhaps something can be sorted in the coming weeks."

Stewart has suffered a dramatic fall from grace at the KC, with the Tigers having rejected a £1.5m bid from Nigel Pearson at Leicester in the transfer window this time last year.

Morrison admits 'big money' was available to Stewart at that time, but says the former Manchester United youngster has been dealing with the disappointment well.

"He sees it as all being part and parcel of football," he said.

"Cameron has been unfortunate. He went out on loan to Burnley this season looking for some football, but then Eddie Howe left for personal reasons to return to Bournemouth, and he found himself not in the plans of Sean Dyche.

"The only conversation I have had with Steve Bruce was about his return to Hull before Saturday's match, so we need to sit down again and look forward."

“Yep, that's damn good management. A old hand using a young lads pride to get him to raise his commitment and do the 'extra' training that is needed to get him back to where he should be anyway. Seems like a good result all around; it wouldn't be the first time the contrite apology has been used in all walks of life. What is good is that CS seems to have taken it in good spirit, as not everyone are able to do so.”

I get more impressed with Steve Bruce, he's apologised to Cam Stewart for his comments and Stewart has really responded in training.

“a good man manager knows that some players react to an old fashioned rollocking, some to a quiet word and an arm around the shoulders, Steve Bruce seems to have got a positive reaction from Cameron so what he did worked, let's hope it transfers to the field.
It also seems like Steve Bruce has learned from his brief time without a job, he often hung Sunderland players as a group out to dry when things were going wrong there, but with Hull he is doing all the right things, let's hope we can kick on and catch Cardiff, a long way to go but things are very very promising !”

“If Cameron Stewart is reading this can he please take a little bit of advice from fans who know he has the talent! It would be in his best interest to take a leaf out of Elmohamadys book and use his time to study and watch Elmo in the coming weeks. We know Cameron has the pace, we know he has the skill but in general we all know he reslly doesn't have a mindset of a footballer. If he had anything about him he would use the talent he has been gifted and become a Hull City team player. In my eyes, Cameron has become a pre'madonna thinking his skill and trickery is what we want but could i just inform him, its the direct simple ball/cross/pass that we crave for from him. If he could just put a first time cross in, instead of taking an extra three or four touches, he would be creating chances for Big Nick and Simmo, especially last saturday. If he stopped trying to beat the last defender to the by line, when he clearly runs out of space or loses the ball, and got a first time ball in to the box with purchase, I doubt he would not be picked week in week out. Brady, Chester,Evans and Dudgeon all have a no nonsense style about their play, yet Stewart seems to prat about for an eternity, only to lose the ball. And thats the biggest critisism I have against him! When he loses the ball, he just gives up and dies. he should be busting a gut to win the ball back or break down any play of a counter attack. So come on Cammy! Watch Elmo, with his first time balls and how he tracks back, should he ever lose the ball! Rant Over!!!!!!!!!!!! UTT!”

“here's a name for you Cameron - John Bostock, you want to end up like him loaned out to lower league teams until you get your "form" back ?
Carry on like you are and you will, maybe you should have a word with the likes of Will Atkinson who have suffered the disappointment of going to a League 2 club, but has worked his a s s off at his trade and it was a delight to see the work rate and effort he put in the other day v Aston Villa.
If you don't want to work hard maybe you need to go and check out the unemployment office and see what your options are, a hard dose of reality is what you need !”

“Strummer, you are so right in questioning the actions of Steve Bruce and I can only do the same as everyone else and that is make a judgment on what I see, what is very widely reported by good and trusted sources and of course, refer back to well proven historic evidence. I don't have the answers to your questions, but I can offer some form of reasoning:

Bruce will have seen him, as will Agnew; nether men are inexperienced or daft. We know we have a thin squad and we also know that some players can play to a reasonable standard carrying a bit of lard – no better example than Andy Reid (ex-SAFC and now Forest). My best guess is that it was a mix of Hobson's choice and also giving CS his chance to show his intent that led to his selection – it was clear that SB did not really value the fixture for no other reason than a reserve team run-out; something I really strongly disagree with. From the reaction of SB I would guess that they never got the reaction they were looking for. My guess would also be that CS was made very aware of this chance and Bruce (an expert at it) used the media to put him on the spot – in front of the fans and the dressing room. There are clearly issues with the lad and they need addressing – remember he fell out with Brady and was a bit disruptive.

I agree and have said earlier, that Burnley and City will have had words; but CS is a professional and SB made no effort to disguise his disgust at his lack of professionalism – the rest of the squad (loaned out players especially) beware!!”
