Thomas goes for his 100th goal
Eight-year-old Thomas Herring, of Beverley, is only one goal short of his century after just two seasons with his club AFC Tickton.
The youngster, who has been playing football since the age of five has already netted 62 times this season in 44 matches.
The Molescroft Primary School pupil scores freely with his left and right feet and is hoping his team's game this Sunday against Driffield will see him bag his century in fine style.
Thomas said: "When I play football, it feels fantastic.
"Scoring goals is brilliant. When I grow up I want to play for Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea, or any of the top teams."
The youngster, who says Liverpool's Fernando Torres and Hull City's on-loan striker Manucho are his favourite players, revealed he has a special celebration planned if he hits the back of the net on Sunday.
He said: "I'm going to run round the goal if I score."
Thomas scored 37 goals last season and, thanks to his prowess in the box, he will start training in Driffield with Hull City coaches after being spotted by a scout.
His proud dad, Stuart Herring, 38, who coaches AFC Tickton said: "It is fantastic. He has exceeded my expectation with how he has played and hopefully he can keep it going."
