A 15-year-old boy who suffers from a rare form of cancer has met his Hull City heroes.

Danny Love visited the players and staff at the club training ground.

The day was organised by Dreams Come True, a national charity that grants the wishes of seriously ill youngsters.

It was one of two surprises for the teenager, of Middleton Street, city centre, who will also visit Lapland on December 9, courtesy of charity When You Wish Upon A Star.

For Danny, who will spend Christmas Day in hospital undergoing chemotherapy, the events have given him a much-needed boost.

He said: "It's been mad meeting Phil Brown, Geovanni, Deano and all the others.

"I watched them training and then had dinner with them all which was really good.

"I have been a City fan all my life, born and bred, so this is amazing."

Danny has been undergoing gruelling chemotherapy to battle choriocarcinoma, a very rare type of germ cell tumour, since May.

He was diagnosed with the cancer just two days before he was due to watch his team at Wembley in the Championship play-offs.

He missed the match and has not been able to attend one since.

The club have already offered him tickets to the final match of the season, when Hull City play Manchester United at home.

Danny is now focusing on his next big day, when he travels to Lapland with other poorly young people from East Yorkshire.

The trip will be a welcome break for Danny, who undergoes another stint of chemotherapy on December 1 at St James's Hospital in Leeds.

The treatment will finish on December 7, just a day before his 16th birthday.

He travels to Lapland one day later.

Danny must then return to the hospital for a week on December 22 – and will not be home in time for Christmas Day.
