Tolls deal for patients
EAST YORKS: Patients crossing the Humber Bridge to attend medical appointments in Hull could get extra concessions as part of an imminent deal to cut fares.
A deal has now been agreed between the region's four councils – Hull, East Riding, North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire – to equally underwrite the bridge's remaining £182 million debt. It means the Government will now write off the other £150 million.

North East Lincolnshire Council leader Chris Shaw will take the deal back to his council for final ratification on Wednesday. But as part of negotiations yesterday, he secured an agreement on costs for medical patients.
