“This comes as no surprise. However we've some of the best cycling in our region to exclude the East of Yorkshire is outright atrocious. Furthermore people in Hull campaigned for cycling in the 90's in 2011 a BBC published an article naming Hull the 'Fourth Best cycling city' http://tinyurl.com/b9yvszh Hull and surrounding areas are in desperate need of boosts to business and badly needed investment, East Yorkshire is one of the hardest hit by the recession…. Just a thought maybe that is what they don't want the World seeing; how run-down our City is.”

“We've been shafted by the whole of Yorkshire. Shame on them!
Time to fight back and break away from our county friends. We are unique no body has our characteristics, attitude or landscapes. Time for The Peoples Republic of East Yorkshire”

“Seems that HDM just raked up old stories and hype and replaced the word "seimens" with tour de france....”

“How typical. The route takes in West, North and South Yorkshire leaving the East Riding the only county left out.
We should all innundate "Welcome to Yorkshire" with abusive letters letting them know that we are still here and are just as much a part of Yorkshire as the others.
These flat earthers who think Leeds is the centre of the universe deserve the ire of us all.
It's a complete joke.”
