EAST YORKS: A train company is launching a new application to help passengers plan journeys and buy train tickets.

First TransPennine Express (FTPE) has teamed up with mobile app producer Masabi and online ticket provider thetrainline.com to offer customers a free application to provide information such as train times and fares.

The app is compatible with iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Nokia, Samsung and other popular handsets.

It can be downloaded from appropriate stores after searching for tpexpress, or by texting shortcode "TPEAPP" to 86688.
