Travellers to parade and trade their horses at historic Brigg Horse Fair
Many Brigg folk are now counting down the days to the annual horse fair.
It is expected the travelling community will settle on Saturday, August 4 as the date for this year's event.

Although August 5 is the official date of Brigg Horse Fair, when this falls on a Sunday the event is generally moved.
Freeman of Brigg, former long-serving councillor Tom Glossop, was involved in liaising with the travelling community last time August 5 was a Sunday.

And Tom feels the travellers will settle for the Saturday, rather than staging the fair on the Monday. Don't expect to find Brigg Horse Fair in official listings.
It's a traditional but unofficial forum for travellers to parade and trade their steeds in the time-honoured fashion, with hundreds of people going along to watch.
Some stalls also accompany the event.
The favoured site of recent years is Station Road, adjoining the railway station.
Horses are paraded up and down the road near North Lincolnshire Council's Hewson House offices.
The event generally gets into swing about 10am and runs well into the afternoon.
