Troubled Jess Blake in suicide pact, Hull inquest hears
BEVERLEY teenager Jess Blake had a history of self-harming before she was found dead in woods on the outskirts of the market town.
An inquest at Hull has heard Jess, 14, was referred to social services and mental health professionals after she cut her neck and her arms in the months leading up to her death in August.

She had also made a suicide pact with another teenager, who cannot be named, but died days before carrying out the plan to jump off the Humber Bridge.
Coroner Geoffrey Saul returned a narrative verdict saying Jess had died from hanging. Although he ruled her death had been caused by “her own hand”, he said he couldn’t return a verdict of suicide because he couldn’t be sure of her intent to kill herself.

“I came here to read about Jess not some sick, twisted mind comment from 'profanity'. S/he doesn't know ANYTHING about Jess and if s/he does then by God s/he has a cold heart! S/he says zits were her problem? Worse; they are from planet Zog?! What the heck, it doesn't exist! How sick, twisted minded does this person have to be? Can't they read the title? She died, and they have the guts to put this as a 'comment'?! I'm outrageous I bet most of the people who have read this are as well! The death of Jess saddened me enough but this person has the guts to write that, well thank you for upsetting me and probably most the people who have read this. I hope you feel ashamed of yourself!

“profanity - I am glad all is wonderful in your world. However, I doubt anyone you have ever encountered has suffered from (real) depression or any other mental health condition (unless you count your heartless arrogance).
It is a tragic end to a young life. At the end of the day I am sure young people who do this kind of thing do not understand the finality of such things. But you cannot blame ANYONE. A child should be allowed to flourish and grow and learn. No time for "what ifs".
I just hope those who make these callous comments never have to go through what Jess' parents have, over the past few months.”
