Indie rock fivesome The Twang are to return to Hull.

The band, which was described as "Britain's best new band" by the NME, causing a media storm and a bidding frenzy from various major record labels, will play at Fruit, in Humber Street, on Friday, March 2.

The Birmingham outfit may not have lived up to the heady early expectations foisted on their shoulders, but the group has managed to build a committed fan-base.

Its jaunty, guitar- driven sound has won the band comparisons with The Inspiral Carpets.

Where & when: Fruit, Humber Street, Hull, on Friday, March 2, 7.30pm. Entry £12.50. Call 01482 221113. Visit www.the twang.co.uk
