A broken down van was causing major tailbacks on the A63 this morning.

The vehicle stopped in the inside lane of at A63 Clive Sullivan Way eastbound before The Junction turn off.

Traffic was slow in the area and the carriageway was effectively down to one lane as vehicles tried to pass the van.

“With reference to E,Hulls comment, if the van had had no tax it would have been towed away asap.”

    “The main question is why?
Some years ago I remember traffic chaos on Spring Bank when a lane was closed due to a broken down 5cwt van at the city end. The van, which could easily have been moved, was left there all day. Any other non third world country and it would have been towed away immediately. Why not here?”
