'Unemployment below national average'
The Government has done a lot of good things to support economic growth and get more young people into work, such has expanding apprentice- ships, establishing university technical colleges and studio schools and promoting more work experience placements.
These are just some of the reasons we are seeing the highest numbers in employment in our history.
In Beverley and Holderness, we have unemployment of 4.1 per cent, well below the national average and far less than in the United States or Europe.
This is good news but there is much more to be done and we can't be complacent. That is why I will continue to press the Government to do more to under- stand and champion rural areas like ours so we can create jobs.

“'In Beverley and Holderness, we have unemployment of 4.1 per cent, well below the national average and far less than in the United States or Europe.'
So what about Hull or don't we mention that........ 55 applicants for every job I believe or shall we just gloss over that like ostriches, put our head in the bucket of sand and carry on regardless...
You can just hear the political elite saying to each other ''Everything's alright here lads, unemployment's low so no problems at all, there's nothing for us to do let's go on another jolly - err I mean 'fact finding' mission to somewhere nice, or let's employ our mates in some non-value added job which is also not accountable to anyone. Let's carry on suppressing talk on immigration and the EU, and saying nothing about anything which would rock the boat and destroy our careers"”
