Union claims boss living 'millionaire's lifestyle'
HULL: Unite has claimed the CEO of Greencore Cakes and Desserts is living a "millionaire's lifestyle" while workers lose pay.
It comes ahead of a planned 24-hour strike at the firm's Hull base, in Amsterdam Road, tomorrow. Workers voted overwhelmingly to take action.
Unite says employees are losing up to £40 per week because of changes to their pay and conditions. In a letter to Greencore CEO Patrick Coveney, Len McCluskey, Unite general secretary, said: "I would urge you to intervene with management and persuade them to do the right thing for those workers whose hard work and loyalty contribute to the profits that allow you to live a millionaire lifestyle."
The Mail would like to clarify that Unite is not appealing to retailers such as Asda to seek alternative suppliers.
