“I went through it too blahblahblur - in my Defender. Nowt for that kind of vehicle - end of days for anyone "powering" through it in a low car. 15mph at steady revs, and you might be ok, but rev or speed through and you risk all kinds of damage.”

“Fire, floods, famine, pestilence - we'll be getting swarms of locusts soon. Best to build the ark and beware. YOUR GOD IS WATCHING YOU. Repent. Repent. It's not too late to be kind to your neighbours and stop shoplifting.”

“This flooding reminds me of the old latin phrase from the Aeneid "Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes" meaning "Beware of Greeks bearing gifts"”

“I remember earlier in the year people sying we were deperaye for rain!
Remember the old saying "Be careful what you wish for"
Lets hope the damage caused this time is nowhere near as bad as 2007, I was lucky but a lot of people around where I live were terribly affected.”
