Van men attack victim in quiet Pocklington market place

POCKLINGTON: A man suffered facial injuries after he was assaulted by a group of men as he walked through Market Place.

The man, 32, was at the junction of Hallgate and Chapmangate at 12.15am on Tuesday, September 16, when a white van mounted the kerb and stopped next to the victim and his friend.

Two men are then said to have jumped out of the van and assaulted the victim.

It is alleged another vehicle also then pulled up, men climbed out and continued to assault the victim. The men then drove away.

The victim suffered a black eye, a cut to the nose, swelling under the eye and swelling to the head.

Witnesses should call police on 101.
