Victim found with fatal head injuries
THE murder investigation began when police were called by a friend of Peter Battle, who was concerned for his safety.
Mr Battle was found with fatal head injuries inside Whisker Cottage, Full Sutton.
Detective Chief Inspector Alistair McFarlane said: "We have information suggesting a person or persons may have been visiting the property in the weeks preceding the discovery of Mr Battle's body.
"We have a substantial number of officers and staff working on the investigation with forensic examination of the scene continuing and other lines of enquiry being actively pursued."
