“I well remember doing my Final Teaching Practice at this school, in the early 1970's. The pupils were usually well behaved, co-operative and a pleasure to teach. There were some excellent teachers, one of whom (Bill Cormack, Head of P.E.) later became a very successful Head of a North East Lincolnshire Comprehensive School. The Head, R. T. Tolson was a motivator and mentor of the type often lacking, in today's education service.”

“@Derkoi
It wasn't there in my day either. Seems odd that they are pulling down buildings like this, when kids are being taught in sheds at other schools”

“The thicker the kids, the more money that gets thrown at building new schools.”

“Hull's £400m Building Schools for the Future scheme, were handed over earlier this month.
So they have spent £400m on new buildings, but still half the kids that leave can't read or wrote properly.
Well that was money well spent.
They would have been far better of spending that £400m reducing class sizes, and making sure all the children could read and write before they get to senior school.
Yet another few hundred million wasted on politicians vanity projects. And we wonder why the country is broke.”
