“In spite of all the euphoria and the Welcoming of Steve Bruce, To which I want to reiterate, I have no problem with as yet, I get the niggling feeling, Asseem Allam, could not answer the reasons during this press conference, why he had picked Bruce. When asked, twice, why he had picked Stevie, Allam responded without giving sufficient reasons to why he wanted him but that he was expencive and a very nice man! I'm still not convinced by the Allams, as their knowledge in footballing terms appears to be non existent. It is ok to suggest that Stevie, will get us promoted, and keep us there, and I sincerely hope he does, but his managerial record to date is mediocre and I have my reservations, especially when Stevie has struggled to change the course of a game tactically. Did the Allams take these stats into consideration? I think not! Nevertheless! I will be giving Stevie, the benifit of the doubt in my full support and wish him well during his tenure at Hull City! It will be interesting to see if he can truley win me over, as I'm going to sit on the fence for the first quater of the season and analyse his managerial stance, with our football team. If your reading this Stevie, thanks for the brief chat yesterday, I thought it was pretty decent of you!”

“Thank you to the Allams for appointing Steve Bruce. This appointment shows genuine ambition and of course, if the carping commentators witness a good start to the 2012-13 season they will come round to the man and get behind him. I never thought that Sunderland was the right club for him to take on with his Newcastle allegiances but at Hull City he has a real opportunity to make a name for himself and bring us back to the heady days we first smelt on May 24th 2008. Up The Tigers! Up The Bruce!”

“Sorry but I just do not understand where all this admiration for a very ordinary manager is coming from. Still living on some reputation as a player. Another name just doing the rounds collecting clubs like Jack Nicholas.
When the Allams said thety where going to scour Europe I did'nt think they meant the the beaches.
Was this the guy all the delicate negociations took place with for six weeks. Steve Bruce just had to wait till some mug club came a knockin.
Wonder why he was free, mmmm let me think.
You'll see 3 yrs of mid table mediocraty.”

“without doubt its so clear to see ,
Assem Allam is one of the Nice guys.
Then again he has proved that in all the things he has done even Before he took over at Hull City.
he reminds me of Jimmy Saville in some ways....Both did things for good causes and wanted to be loved / liked.
Hes quite an old man and he should be treat with respect and not called a liar or a crook and worse...
Without a doubt there would have been no Hull City without the Allams
WHY would he want to fail ?
where did the cheap option come from ?
i blame the local media with there doom and gloom tales,
the guess who is manager, and lets name the worst we can think of.
burnsey saying theres no money for players..
IF everything goes **** up then at least the Allams tried when no one else would.
Assem and Ehabs Black and Amber Army..”

“Great comments.....great appointment.......well chuffed! Who would anyone rather of had....I cant think of anyone at all. Everything has been very well explained in this press conference. All those who constantly come on here and speak drivel......please can you watch the press conference.....ALL OF IT!
I applaud the Allams.....they're definitely not messing around....they love Hull and the East Riding and we should all just accept that.
We are in a far better position now than a year ago AND when Barmby was in charge.
UTT!”

“I'm pleased you have responded, Merlin. I am just as pleased that you have responded as is best suited at such times. The internet is crazy because it is immediate, but we all use and abuse it to some extent. Your style can be amusing, challenging and rarely, very rarely abusive, but this got to you; or it appeared to, as many of us who have a cheeky respect for you have expressed concern at. I'm not perfect either, not by a long street!
Let us see what happens, because when the politics die down the results will become the focus. Really, seriously, looking forward to us performingunder a manager with his playing and management credentials; not saying he is bolt-on for results, just the comparison in how he handles us.
I had no sympathy with AP as you know, but NB was for the nurturing - unless he made that impossible. Allam's amiable press conference was great, but it could have been a front - just like AP could have a front when he talked to folk at functions - always working, springs to mind.
The other day, on one post or another,I said that I thought the essential attributes of a football squad included trust, Allam has emphasised this through his onus on 'loyalty'; time will tell if that is a two-way street.
Don't get too drawn in, but contribute, preferably not as a Troll! ( I only learnt that last week, does that make you the Tiger Shrek?)”
