Vue cinema-goers to be charged for Princes Quay parking
Visitors to the cinema in Hull's Princes Quay shopping centre are to be charged to park in an evening from today.
Anyone going to Vue after 6pm used to be able to park for free. However, as of today visitors will be charged.
A spokeswoman from Vue said: "Vue continually strives to provide its customers with the best value for money possible and has been able to offer free parking to visitors of Vue Hull since the cinema opened five years ago.
"From February 17, the standard, competitive rate of £1, which is in line with the car park's existing tariff, will apply to all customers.
This includes Vue patrons, who use the car park after 6pm."

“To Basil-Fawlty of course we've got the message that if you don't pay to park at Princes Quay when you go to the cinema you will be clamped that's why everyone is discussing the alternatives such as on street parking in the area, which is free after 6pm or going to one of the other cinemas in Hull where parking is FREE.”

“Why? It's not like Princes' Quay car park is rammed after 6pm is it? I've always rated Cineworld on Kingswood higher anyway - better atmosphere and they do a reasonably priced Unlimited card as well.”

“I wonder what genius thought this was a good idea. Its not like Hull is particularly short on cinemas and it doesn't take Einstein to work out that if you have a choice of 4 places to go and only 1 charge for parking you're going to choose one of the other 3!!!
