Watch out for ice on roads
Motorists heading from East Yorkshire to the A1 this morning are being warned to take extra care after a number of accidents caused by ice.
Freezing rain has turned to ice on sub-zero road surfaces, causing cars, vans and lorries to skid off the road on the A1(m) and the M1 southbound.
The A1(m) southbound between junctions 45 and 46 and the M1 southbound bewtween junctions 43 and 46, both near Leeds, have been closed.
Drivers are being advised by the Highways Agency to check weather and traffic conditions before setting out on their journeys this morning.
