Water switched off in parts of Hull

Households in parts of Hull woke up to find their water turned off this morning.

Other areas were affected by low pressure.

  1. Yorkshire Water low pressure

    Hull's water supplies were affected by a pump failure this morning.

Yorkshire Water blamed the problem on a pump failure at Wawne Road.

It said engineers fixed the fault before 8am and supplies should be returning to normal.

Areas affected included east Hull, north Hull and Cottingham, and the postcode areas HU5, HU6, HU7, HU8, HU11 and HU12.

Problems were reported to the Mail by residents in Victoria Dock, Sutton, Bricknell Avenue, Soutcoates, The Avenues, Greatfield, Bransholme and Orchard Park.

    “Don't ever call the plumber first, always ring Yorkshire Water, they are usually spot on, I called at about 7.15 and they told me about the pump problem straight away.”
