Windass: "I feel sorry for Phil Brown"
Hull City legend Dean Windass has expressed his sympathy for Phil Brown, after the manager was put on "gardening leave".
Windass said: "I feel very sorry for Phil. He's the most successful manager Hull have ever had.

Dean Windass.
"He was a great manager for me and a good coach as well. It's a sad day for Phil.
"He's done a fantastic job in the time he's been there. To take us (into the top flight) after 104 years was a great journey for us. All good things come to an end but he was a good friend and always will be."

“Well I drove past the KC this morning and saw Pele, Alex Ferguson and Bill Shankly all holding hands and skipping through West Park.
Make of that what you will.”

“I am sorry that it has boiled down to this. I would like to thank Phil for what he has done for the club. It is so easy to knock. I think if he had been mentored a bit, and encouraged to play attacking football, things could be very different now. That's what got us the points early last season, and lack of attack is why we stopped getting points up until now. We never managed to replace Marlon King up front - shame he was such a plonker off the pitch. We do have strikers but we do not play them enough, and/or give them service. That's what cost Phil his job. Keegan - now that would be exciting!”

“After all that brownie has done for the club, just remember the January transfer window and the transfer market last year, Brown could not sign any players, becaue there was no money, That greedy ????? Duffin proberbly hiked the lot, how can a team play the likes of Man U and Chelsea with no strikers, Brownie needs a medal pinning where the sun don't shine for what he has done, what did pearson say when he came back THERE IS NO MONEY! But why should the manager go? he is the manager not the coaching staff, okay he is to blame for some of the rediculous formations he put out.
But what killed city on Saturday, was Myhil in the 93rd minute, I don't hear or read any of his pathetic non saves, in the past.
Who and I mean who would buy a player, for 5 million, without a strict medical, and I am talking about Bullard here who unfortunately got injured, no one could see that and then while he is sat on his ass for £50 grand a week, that wage needs to be cut down.
Finally with 9 matches left, what was Pearson and the board thinking about, their bloody pockets as usual, who ever they get as replacement has got one hell of an up hill climb, and I think gates of 25 thousand has, like the Premiership come to an end, and there will be a mass exodus of players at the end of the season. They had better start putting on rock concerts to make ends meet or they will be back to the days of the Needler fiasco.
Good luck Phil, and R.I.P City”

“I have to agree with Stu. The exploits of Brownie brought pride to this city. Have you forgotten the excitement when City were promoted or the euphoria when they stayed up last year when bigger clubs like Newcastle were relegated? Sure, Phil made mistakes, but remember, all the success we have enjoyed over the last three years was was massively against the odds. Thanks for all you did PB and best wishes for the future.”

“If I was to be honest I am gutted!! Browny has had many critics but I for one have supported him through thick and thin. How easy it is to forget that he saved us from falling out of the championship and took us to Premier League. He should have been given until the end of the season and then see what happens. If the season comes and we get relegated, then so be it but he took us there. For all those fans that say 'I'mGlad He's Gone' I'd like to hear their thoughts if Megson was brought in........................Good Luck Browny and I for one wish you all the best and THANKYOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
