Witnesses wanted over bus shelter assault

Two people, believed to be witnesses to a domestic assault in Cottingham, are being sought.

The assault took place in the bus shelter in the Market Green area of the village at 11pm on Friday, September 7.

The suspect is alleged to have pushed his partner to the ground, where she suffered a bang to the head.

Police arrested the man on suspicion of assault and he was later released on bail.

It is believed that before the alleged assault at the bus stop, the man was involved in an altercation with a group of youths who police believe may have also witnessed the assault on the woman.
