Wolds Way celebrates 30th year
EAST YORKS: Walkers are marking the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Yorkshire Wolds Way.
This week marks three decades since the creation of the Wolds Way, which takes in almost 80 miles of scenic countryside between Hessle and Filey.
The trail was made possible only after a 14-year campaign to establish rights of way along the Wolds.
The East Yorkshire and Derwent Area Ramblers Association has organised a programme of walks – which have already taken in Welton and Huggate – to celebrate the anniversary.

Further walks will take place at South Cave on Saturday and at West Heslerton and Thixendale on Sunday.
