“A really sad story; thoughts go out to the victims family and friends.
I live near the scene of the accident (Saltshouse Road / Eastmount Avenue) and quite frankly the road is like a racetrack some nights. Cars roar up and down Saltshouse at break neck speed; you don't need to see them, you can tell by the noise how fast they are going!
This is not the only fatal accident on this road in recent years, and unless something is done to slow the cars (especially at night) then it won't be the last. There is a clear run of road from Spring Cottage to the Holderness Road roundabout; some means of slowing the traffic needs to be put in place. There are mini roundabouts further up the road, why can more not be built? There is plenty of room at the junctions of Middlesex Road, Western Gailes Way, and Eastmount Avenue for roundabouts or traffic lights to be installed.
How many more families will be mourning a loved one before something is done??”
