A HORSE rider from Malton has won this year's Kiplingcotes Derby.
The finish line of England's oldest horse race was packed with visitors eager to see which of the 13 riders was going to win the event.

Carolyn Bales, who was riding seven-year-old Woteva, claimed top spot.
"It was absolutely crazy," she said after winning on her first attempt in the race.

"At the start I must have 30 or 40 lengths behind. I chose a different route to catch up which ended up paying off.
