Mail's Business Awards 2008 launched

THE region’s top companies and entrepreneurs are being invited to enter the Mail News & Media Business Awards 2008.

The awards, now in their eighth year, are the highlight of the business calendar and celebrate the region’s pioneering entrepreneurial spirit.

This year, the awards are sponsored by global financial company Ernst & Young, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Group, Gosschalks Solicitors, Business Link Yorkshire, Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare, Sewell Retail, Kingston Communications, the University of Hull Business School and Hull Forward.

Companies that make it to the final will be subject of a video profile shown at the awards presentation dinner that will be sponsored by family-owned East Yorkshire firm Bonus Group.

East Yorkshire recruitment company Beardshaw Murray is to sponsor the associated champagne reception.

Categories include Business of the Year Award, Small Business of the Year Award, Young Businessperson of the Year Award, Start-up Business of the Year Award, Contribution to the Community Award, Customer Service Award, Communications Technology in Business Award, Workforce Development Award, and the Design Excellence Award.

The award ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 27, at the Willerby Manor Hotel.
