“I depend upon Hull Trains as I do a lot of work in London. Hull Trains is no longer a reliable option. Yesterday, my outward and return train was cancelled. Their customer service personnel are a joke. I suspect that they are going down the pan!
I attended the Yorkshire Business Convention recently and Richard Branson's side kick made a very interesting comment. It was along the lines that Virgin has just sold al of its **** rolling stock to Hull Trains - I believe it!”

“and they have the nerve to increase the fares. they should reduce them for all the inconvenience they cause to the people that use them.”

“I want to travel to Paris, starting Hull, Kings Cross and Eurostar from st Pancras, how can I trust this outfit. You know, I think i'd be better off driving. Throw 'em out, they're a bluudy shambles.”

“Peter Positive I have three children but yes I do get the early 'straight through' train to London as it is nice and quick and gives me more time in the capital. For some reason Hull trains take longer to get to London. I once had to change at Doncaster due to changing train times and found it a very slow way to travel as the train was 20 minutes late and seemed to take forever to get here. Hull trains are unreliable so I avoid them whenever possible. As I travel to London every couple of weeks, I have always used East Coast as they are definately the best.”

“Its a sad state of affairs for what was a local success story. You have to ask why on earth did they get involved with First for?? The management at the time had a growing company with reliable Voyager trains and satisfied customers. It then becomes First Hull Trains, and their trains are replaced with hopelessly unreliable cast offs from First Great Western or wherever it was.
First Hull Trains now seems more concerned with glossy ads, glossy trains and marketing ploys than their core business proposition of reliable direct trains between Hull and the capital, which smacks of poor management.
My advice to FHT would be to reduce their timetabled journeys for a start, get back some reliability. Running 3 departures from London/Hull at 100% is for better than 60% of their current timetable at best, sometimes. Then hold whoever they lease the trains from, or who has the maintenance contract, to account, and get the trains working properly. To sum up, stop faffing around and get back to the basics that made you a hit with Hull folk in the first place.”

“Neg Dupree. How many through trains to London do East Coast run!! One early morning otherwise travel to Doncaster and change. Eleanor91 makes the same mistake - I used the service once she said. Tried meat one and did not like it, tried flying once and did not like it. She most probably has only one child!! Also does not understand that the coaches are very similar to East Coast re width of aisle and luggage.

“@PeterPositive
When East Coast cancel a service they make sure there is another one following, so people who missed the previous train can use that one. Hull Trains did not bother putting another service on, saying that we had to use other carrier.”

“May we please know what the 'earlier incident' was? Is this the same as an 'operating incident' which mysteriously and cryptically affects Hull Trains services from time to time?”
