Thrilling role for local teen actress
Eleanor Tomlinson, 17, took the lead role in the movie Hepzibah, a mystery-thriller about a series of suicides of teenage girls in a village.
The film will be dubbed in German, but it is hoped an international version will be released in English.
Eleanor said: "I went for a last-minute audition in London. I thought it hadn't gone very well, but a week later they called and offered me the role.
"I was so shocked. I loved the script when I first read it and playing the lead role was a great opportunity."
The film also stars David Bamber, of Pride And Prejudice, Christopher Elson, Finn Atkins and Murray Melvin, of A Taste Of Honey.
Despite it being her first role abroad, the star of teen comedy Angus, Thongs And Perfect Snogging and Doctor Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures enjoyed it a lot.
She said: "I absolutely loved it. It was great shooting a horror movie as I've never done anything like that before.
"It was exciting and I was able to really bond with the cast when we went out exploring.
"I loved Prague. It is a beautiful city. I was sad to come home, but hopefully I will go back.
"Being on my own was weird, but I got on so well with everybody we became like a family."
Next year, Eleanor could be sharing the red carpet with the likes of Johnny Depp, Matt Lucas, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Michael Sheen, Anne Hathaway and Mia Wasikowski for the release of Alice In Wonderland, on March 5.
Eleanor said: "I'm very excited about that. The film is in 3D animation and I think the movie will be fab.
"I didn't get to meet any of the big stars, as they were in LA shooting the animation scenes, but hopefully there'll be a London premiere. Fingers crossed."
HEADED FOR THE BRIGHT LIGHTS OF HOLLYWOOD? Beverley girl Eleanor Tomlinson, 17, is staring in a new mystery-thriller movie with David Bamber of Pride And Prejudice fame.
