“If someone had have told you during the Marina's heyday that you'd be drinking down Princes Ave and all the pubs would be gone within a few years you'd never have believed them.

I think the chances of Bank Holiday drinking at the Marina returning are minimal. Sorry to say but at least you have your memories.”

“Humber Street Sesh showed Hull what the Marina is capable of but I don't think it will ever return to its former glory. That being said I do believe the Marina will continue to thrive as festival come events venue such as the HSS and the Freedom Festival, however as you quite rightly stated, the second to town area has always moved on every few years and I think this will continue to occur.

Will it come full circle? Who knows!”

“Yer all true but what a place i was to young at the time but bank holidays was booming there. I remember as a young teenager walking by and the whole city was sat outside in the sun, some drunken *** head jumping in the water every now and then, brilliant " i do however believe this contributed to its down fall"

Now its cramed into tiny beer gardens, over priced bars with slooooow bar staff.

I do however enjoy this cosmopoliton scene our city seems to be developing so ill live with it im sure.

Your both right though who would of thought that? Princes AV butchers, barbers and a park at one point, so who knows wheres next,

Full circle and back to Marina i would welcome that”

“I for one am glad the marina has seen the back of cut price 2 for one hair gel and earring gangs of drunken halfwits marauding around the garish, sticky carpetted floors of the likes of pepi's and tropical nights. It was horrible.

Much better that the area is (slowly) developing into a relaxed, stylish, fun and family friendly area of galleries (Oresome, studio eleven, museum of club culture) cafebars (thieving Harry's, Fruit) and quality restauarants (the wilson, 1884 DSK) to give hull a whiff of living up to it's potential as a great european waterfront city. A long way to go for sure, but a good start IMO.”
