“Brilliant idea Redwas. I would have gone "Oh my God Houston, I've got stuck like a magnet and can't move my legs". As Mission Control (and the World) looked on wondering what was going to happen next I'd have simply lifted my left leg in the air and said "JOKING!!!"

My idea of getting every six year old (and over) kid on the planet giggling. I'd have ruled the World for a minute or two!

Don't worry about any flak I'll get. Have you seen the size of these shoulders?
But what a great post Redwas. I like you. I knew I would.”

This could be another good topic.... did it ever happen? Or was it all a big con? Or have we had this before?”

I actually started my first post saying that though I am not a fan of conspiracy theories, I have myt doubts about the moon landing. They say that the 'space ship' was actually tracked going there and back by Patrick Moore and other astronomers, but the images broadcast certainly weren't from the moon.

Anyway I deleted that bit because I thought it wasn't what Redwas was asking, but I'm glad you mentioned it.”

Have the courage of your convictions.
As you know, I am very lucky as I am always right, but lesser mortals should still say what their heart tells them to.
There is no way anyone could stand a trip to the moon and survive the Van Allen belts radiation. The whole thing is a set up in my opinion, the truth is out there.”

I could walk around with a bag full of dust and say it is the mortal remains of a unicorn, doesn't mean to say it is though (although they are, and if you would like to buy them don't hesitate to ask).

If it really did happen and I was Neil Armstrong I would have said " Hey you up there, yes you ,the third astronaut on this trip, you do realise nobody is ever going to remember your name don't you?"”

Speaking from the gent's side, I can imagine that a bad case of Small Package Syndrome would have had quite a few folk disillusioned about the whole Bold Explorer myth.

“Sorry stevendore but moon rocks have a unique set of chemical characteristics owing to the conditions in which they were formed - not possible to reproduce the exact conditions or chemical composition on earth - trust me, I'm a geologist. As for the Van Allen belts the astronauts were inside a double-skinned vessel with a honeycomb skeleton and the time spent in the region was to brief to have affected them.

I know a man who can check out the DNA of your unicorn, if that helps

Apart from that, I don't believe on lizards running the earth or aliens landing. In my experience people just aren't 'cleaver' enough to carry them all off. I used to work at a company with more than one site and ours was struggling and some people thought that the managers, based at another site, were trying to make us fail and shut us down so their site got all the work. I knew that it was 3 really bad decisions made one after the other by stupid people that had caused all the problems.”

To answer your query look at the recent photos from the Mars rovers - high quality colour photos using the same basic technique as the moon landing broadcasts. Just because a signal has to travel a greater distance doesn't mean it has to be poorer quality - you just need to allow for the time lag”

If, as you say, you have just retired from a career in science, then how do we know that you are not part of the cover up and are now gainfully employed going around various forums poo-pooing any kind of conspiracy theories that you come across, thereby perpetuating the moon landing myth and others?

Yes well so was my ex-husband (not in 1969 obviously) and I was with him and the TV reception was pretty poor.

Maybe this lower quality transmission that you saw was due to the German inadequate TV transmission and that the higher quality pictures shown in the UK were because we have a better TV system.

I watched a TV programme a couple of years ago giving all the reasons why people disbelieve that the moon landing happened and de-bunking them and never once was the high quality transmission put down to it being edited/enhanced.

But more important - what business of yours is it what stevedore and I believe?”

    “GCtheDJ

I don't really care whether or not you have the facility to record or fast forward programmes because your viewing habits are of no interest to me, but if people didn't use the fast forward facility on recorders, the manufacturers wouldn't put the facility on.

My dvd recorder doesn't have the facility to show 'pinky and perky' type recordings.

You can press the fast forward button once and it shows the programme at double speed and surprisingly most programmes can be watched like that. Especially documentaries - without missing anything. After that, I can press it again and again and there is no sound at all and the images flash past. However, I also have a 'skip' button which I have set to the approximate time the commercial breaks come on. And, on the odd occasion that I am watching commercial TV and the ads start I press this button and hey presto, I am watching the next part - and not seen one commercial.

Why this bothers you I just don't know. What difference does it make to your life as to whether or not I watch commercials? And if your constant references to my new photo isn't bullying, I don't know what is.”
