“Surely we can leave our own rants underneath can't we?
Well I'd like to say that I agree. If they want to bomb and murder each other then we must leave them to it. When it involves our Nationals we must do all we can to protect and rescue in a civilised and humane way.
Then bomb them to bits. ;))”

“Britain and our "special relationship"friends America must carry on bringing democracy to any country we both decide is going to get it.
What would Cuba and Nicaragua be like without the intervention of America? What about Chile and the foolish electorate that voted for Allende when Pinochet was Washingtons man?
When the Vietnamese wanted to run their own country was Britain not right to release and arm Japanese prisoners to stop them doing so and then give Vietnam back to France?
America rightly shipped masses of arms to the Afghan freedom fighters to help defeat Soviet invaders and now we are helping to defeat terrorists there that don't want our democracy.
Between us we have brought peace and freedom to Iraq,Libya and soon Syria. Then we can bomb Somalia,Yemen and Mali to peace.
We must back the US at all times, just as they did us in the 1918-19 war and again in 1941-45 (ww2).
Nowt wrong with a good rant.”

“Comment today from Mark Almond, a historian - ' The BP gas facility is a symbol of West European isolation from the growing chaos of North Africa. Ordinary people there have seen little or no benefit from the extraction of the regions natural resources'.
Another from the US Defence (?) Secretary - '...the US would go after Al Qaeda wherever they tried to hide'
I think both comments show what is behind all the recent past military action. The drivers are the Arms Industries and the US wanting revenge, with some justification, but in using it as an excuse it also benefits (as do the countries like ourselves) from gas, oil, etc.”

“Pity the British Government can't be educated on here,if they could have been this country would have supported Castro, Allende and the Sandinista government in Nicaragua.
Thatcher would not have been allowed to fawn over Pinochet,do business with a racist regime in S.Africa or simper around loony Reagan and call Mandela a terrorist.
Born and bred Thatcher loving Blair would not have been able to support another loony tune President and invade Iraq and lie about any justification for wrecking the country.
As Gandhi said "British democracy"? Yes it would be a good idea.”

“It was definitely an O level and it was a decent grade too. 'Tom Nom' was indeed a great tune. Is that one of your favourites on your old 'Dansette'? Well done there for originality.
And that picture reminds me so much of my sweet sugar coated self. Colourful, attractive, well presented, eye-catching. Surprised you went for that one. Obsessive alright.”

“Albaz, you forgot to mention the 'backing' our US cousins gave us during the badly conceived Suez invasion.
Perhaps it's fortuitous they have the finger on the Trident button, otherwise the billions of UK public money spent upon it could go to waste.
Food for thought.”

“Seen 'The Green Zone' ? Did Bush and Blair knowingly ignore information from senior Iraq military advisor that there were no WMDs in Irag?
Another example of the situation we have achieved is the advice today for Brits to get out of Benghazi after militant Islamic threats.”

“Bush knew there were no weapons of any significance let alone of mass destruction. He had an excuse,he's a moron plucked with his banjo from near a swamp apparently.Blair had no such excuse.
Had geriatric buffoon Reagan not allowed US interference in afghanistan the Soviet puppet regime and soviet forces would still be running the country. The anti soviet "freedom fighters"are now the anti western "terrorists".
Our man in Tripoli and our man in Baghdad suddenly became not our "do business with"friends but evil dictators we and our allies had to help get rid of(as in kill).
The first thing free Libyans did was desecrate western war graves, then give weapons to like minded terrorists and now its Brits/Yanks get out while you can.
When we've freed the afghans its Somalia and Mali as although the idea is to learn from history, British governments don't want to and American puppet political front men for Gun/Jewish/Oil lobby string pullers are to stupidly anti anybody to learn anything.”

“albaz - good stuff!
Note today, more interference which it seems Cameron can't resist. Sending RAF drones to help the French in Mali and adding another £21m to the already pledged aid to Syrian rebels, totaling
£89.5m. Surely we cannot really afford to throw these amounts of money around, especially when it doesn't get those who need help anyway?”
“While it must be agreed that those responsible for the situation in Algeria should be dealt with under Algerian or International law, it must be remembered that Western nations have invaded so many countries over the last few years on the pretext of helping them to establish what we regard as democracy, whether they want it or not. In the process we have killed thousands of people, both terrorists and civilians, lost many of our soldiers and at considerable financial cost and we are still doing so in Afghanistan. It is no good using the excuse that it is to defend ourselves against Al Qaeda, we have established a widespread general hate for all the Western countries that is now beginning to involve not only terrorists, but all those who have suffered from our actions.”
