“I don't tend to donate to any charities on a regular basis, having said that, I've done charity discos a few time over the years. But I'll pop a few pence in a pdsa or rspca 'dog' (there's one in ASDA Hessle Road that gets my shrapnel.) I think that if a quality of life is improved, human or animal, no matter for what length of time, it is a positive so people should donate if they wish/can.”

“"Whether an animal is hungry today or not, it will not remember tomorrow."
It will if it is living somewhere where it isn't being fed. Because it will be hungry permanently - until it dies of starvation of course.
Gandhi said "
The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
Replace 'nation' with 'poster' and that also applies.”

“Anon_Geoff,
Actually there is very little support from the government for most charities. Which is why hospices are always fundraising and the shopping centres are full of stands for " Help for Heroes".
We rely far too heavily on charities to keep things at an acceptable level in this country.”

“Does this mean that crocodiles (100 years+) and tortoises (200 years +) get extra help ?
Why does it matter if the animal remembers or not ? Working on that logic perhaps you're suggesting alzheimer sufferers shouldn't be cared for since their awareness is limited ?”
Wednesday, December 12 2012, 12:09PM
“Yes of course we should support animal welfare , I'm a animal lover , Flossy ! your dog had a good innings 17 years , what does that equate to in animal years ? if the government can give millions away in foreign aid , why should we not give a few quid to animal welfare .”

Little_Ole_G then posted on Wednesday, December 12 2012, 1:31PM
"my point was that comparing Alzheimers to animals is wrong"
You are the one doing the comparing. LOL”

Au contraire ma Cherie
A very close relative has been suffering for the past 4-5 years(altho' only in their late 50s)
As a family we console each other on the downs :( and approach the ups with humour :)
So please don't tell me I can't possibly have any knowledge”

“Little_Ole_G,
John 1947 first brought up the subject of Alzheimers with a valid point. All you`ve done is make a mockery of the disease and then try to wriggle out of it.
And in answer to the point you made, alzeimers sufferers, in the latter stages, have no awareness whatsoever.
People should put their brains into gear before making comments about things they know nothing about.”

Neither of you can possibly have any knowledge of Alzheimers, otherwise you wouldn`t make such stupid comments."

So you are either Little_Old_G or the DJ because that is who flossy was talking to.
Forgot who you were logged in as before you pressed the 'submit' button? LOL”

“I don't think I overstepped the mark at all Floss. If I had some form of dementia I'd expect people to be able to make a quip about it (actually i can't always remember where i parked the car and have had a couple of parking tickets cos I've been searching down the wrong street.) I'd say something to the parking warden like "Oops. My flippin' memory, sure I've got dementia". This is the British way. Can you tell me what ailments and conditions you don't mind me making a little funny over? If i know I'll know. Now, if i said "All dementia sufferers are idiots" I can see how this might be interpreted. Don't you worry, i don't mock the afflicted. It's not exactly big is it?”

“Pippa/ granny,
You know very well I can`t "show" you the post because you`ve had it deleted but for those of you that don`t realise what a nasty snob Pippa really is it went the lines of,
" I certainly won`t be taking advice from a checkout girl".
Yes I work on the tills and I`m certainly not ashamed of it.”

“I wasn't making a mock of Alzheimers sufferers - I was simply using it as an example of reduced awareness - apologies if I've offened anyone. There is a difference between intelligence and awareness.
On a lighter note ( and for the physicists among you) I suffer from Heisenberg's syndrome - I don't know who I am and where I am at the same time ;)”

Funny that pippa/cara_mia/Little_Ole_G/MJWhyatt never mentions her job.
pippa27
A bit late to deflect from your mistake now by trying to involve me. You have been really busy these last few haven't you? And all that plotting to have a go at me. I am really happy that I am so important in your life - I bet it's all you live for nowadays.
And as for "you've never really taken to me, have you ?" you have more front than Blackpool.”

No - not until you press the 'submit' button. Then it's too late. You did that yourself recently didn't you when you were insisting that you weren't mimitheDJ/GCtheDJ.
Bet it was quite a shock when the post appeared, especially after all those poems that mimi wrote to GC begging him to come back.
LOL”

“Pippa,
PS Flossy for godsake take a chill pill
OMG that is rich coming from you.
You only post on here with nasty comments and provocative threads. I don`t think I`ve ever seen a post from you with anything like a decent reply or a pleasant response. You do realise that you are known as the forum witch don`t you?”

“DJ your not even remotely funny... the irony is that the only person you amuse is the manipulative, granny spammer.... just watch your back old crows eat budgies for breakfast ... you are an insignificant a pawn in virtual game of chess which she is playing on her own... sad sad sad
pippa ...I note that your sole objective is to cause trouble for g69... in fact 'virtually' stalking g69 ... beware the headlines say that one chap was sentenced to 15 years at your age you could spend the rest of your life in nick ...
I do hear that they give the jailhouse keys at broadmoor to DJ's so you may get a charitable visit from your forum pet... maybe you could reinact lady chatterley's lover ...maggie may”

"Oh but I did and how you ridiculed and mocked me"
As you are so good at finding old posts, please provide proof of this.
jenoh
He may have apologised at that moment on that thread but there was plenty of other stuff going on at the same time on all the others. And he only apologised because it was YOU he was apologising to. My name was never mentioned.”

“I am going to have to revert to playground mentality and say you started it....and when it all dies down you stir it all up again.
I like g69 as a poster and I would rather follow someone who I can relate to than a bitter twisted biddy. Its funny how you have had cross words with flossy who is probably the least likely to cause offence. As for intimating your a stunner, beauty is only skin deep and what an ugly troller you have become.
I am not going to even comment on the spelling error because if that's all you can fire at me it's a poor job ... so in your own words 'wind your neck in' forum troll”

Yes I think it is important our furry little friends give so much in their short time here and sometimes make more sense than some Human beings you only have to look at some of the replies on this subject but ignore them me for one yes we should help those charities.”

My point about the spelling is that jz got picked up on hers. Seems like it's not what you know but who you know on this forum.
In my opinion spelling mistakes don't matter but when someone is doing it for effect (like wozza) or attacking education/teachers/other people's spellings and can't spell themselves, then they are fair game.
But my pet hate is people who can't calculate percentages. LOL.”
“When most animals have such short life spans, does it make sense giving to animal charities?”
