“jz, with every respect, elephant12 is definitely not me! I'll try not to deem that to be too rude. The poster you refer too is very well known to me though. My girlfriend of four years. I do remember her and my sugar-coated self getting some abuse from some of the members when she first posted. Something along the lines of 'is this her age?' and 'one of your fans from the ice rink?' etc. ,To whicjh I seem to remember I was once again too polite (as was she) to post anything retaliatory back. Mummy brought me up to be sweet, kind, loving and wonderful. I am indeed all this and so very very much more, but far be it from me to state the absolute obvious.

My recent postings were especially long because I was, 1. telling a story, 2. entertaining you all and 3. I like to hear the sound of my own voice. Most DJs do!”

“I NEED SOME INFORMATION - My ageing fitted gas oven has an electric grill. The grill died on me a few weeks before christmas and so I set about finding a replacement element. I eventually found a firm that stocked the element for the make and model of oven I have. I bought one and it was duly delivered. Someone told me that as it was a gas oven I would need a Corgi (or whatever they are called now) registered engineer to fit it. I checked into this and found it to be true. So, my search for a registered engineer to do the job began. I contacted umpteen contractors and none of them would do the job as I had already bought the element. They would only do it if they supplied the part. Do any of you know of a registered engineer that would do the job for me?”

“You could ring Hanson's on Willerby Road and explain the dilemma to them. They have a registered fitter and they'll be able to give you his number. Another company I've used is 'The Gas Company'. Their chaps may be able to point you in the right direction.”
