“It is not only current MP`s who get freebies. Stuart Randall, now Lord Randall of St Budeaux, has been on the gravy train since 1997 when Alan johnson was parachuted into Hull west and Hessle (without a selection procedure) to replace him. All of the Lords have curtailed their expense claims since the scandal but he had plenty before that. All on top of his generous MP`s pension. Its a corruption of the process; thanks go to Blair.”

“HoC Credit Cards have strict limits as to what they can be used for - such as travel-to-and-from the MP's constituency, office equipment etc. The Restaurants and Bars in the Houses of Parliament are run on an "at cost" basis, usually turning in a small profit. Our MP's are amongst the worst paid in the world and they often have archaic office facilities. Add to that the building is rodent infested. Then look at the Facilities the satellite parliaments in Cardiff and Edinburgh have (to a lesser extent those in Belfast) and you will see MP's have a pretty arduous life.”

“Before the old witch swoops in, I hit the 'r' rather than the 't' to type in 'understand'.
Naturally it will be an anathema to her, yet if we dare to pick wozza up on his appalling English skills, she swoops in accusing us of being 'nit picking saddos'.
Of course we are not quite as sad as her, sitting up past midnight checking my percentage calculations. And telling me that they were wrong when in fact they were correct.”

“Wozza, I read your posts with great interest. I sense you have deep rooted psychological problems. These problems manifest themselves in an obvious inferiority complex. You also appear to hate women.
You would make a superb subject for study. Please reply and I will send you my details. If you are interested you may come to my 'clinic' for a chat followed by a gourmet meal.
A strange request, if you decide to drop in, please bring some fresh greens.”

“at schools they do penalize the kids that work hard and kids that are disrupted get treats as i have seen this with my own eyes i no its true this is not right is it ??????????????
on the odd times our mps do a great job but as we have all seen the do get loads of perks,,,,,,
now for some 1 who is on 60 grand a year plus how come we have to subsidize there pay eg bills food ect ect ect ,,,,,,,,
does this answer ur question ????????????????????????????
and good on u getting free food”

“Well you seem to have answered my question with more questions which has confused me somewhat (this is easily done however).
I'm not sure about your comment about hard working kids get penalised at school but I agree that unnecessary attention is given to those who disrupt classes. Maybe those kids need that attention to help them become hard workers, that's possibly another topic for discussion....
My point was that if you work hard at school you should, in most cases, be able to reap the rewards. I would guess that most students do not enter into politics for the freebies in the House of Commons however it is unfortunately the way of the world.
Dee, why do you hope this is some sort of joke? Are you unable to have a grown-up debate?”
Thursday, February 02 2012, 2:39PM
“Dee_SBL. with all due respect to you, Wozza is the joke. He has no comprehension of what goes on in the world.
Goodtogo, with all due respect to you too, have you ever tried to debate any intelligent topic with Wozza?
I wish you both the best of luck in your quest.”
Thursday, February 02 2012, 3:15PM
“Goodtogo,
If you had read any of Wozza`s posts over the last few months you would realise that on the rare occasion that he does answer a question we need it translating. He goes off on a tangent and rambles about whatever pops into his head at the time.
If you think you can have a serious discussion with him then I wish you all the luck in the world but when the frustration gets to you and you start tearing your hair out, don`t say you weren`t warned.”

“unfortunately i think when some 1 is on 60 grand plus why do they need freebies ?????????????
its not right at all ????????????
i dont think people should be out of pocket for doing there job as well ,,,,,but wot are we showing our kids,,, its ok for u 2 use the system to suit yourself and stuff every 1 else , these people set our laws but they are not included in them ,,,,,,,eg ,,,,minimum wages for ever 1 but not for them ??????????????
i think kids have to much power now and as we all no our kids no best as we did when we was younger ............your some what right about u get what u put in ,,, i no a person whos been to uni done a degree and works in asda ,as she is to qualified to do what she wanted to do ,,,,im sure u will no some 1 whos in the same predicament”

“Wozza, I do indeed know people who have university degrees and don't work in the area they are trained in. In this day and age it is all too common and that is partly down to the universities themselves.
I still don't see what a persons salary has to do with what freebies they get from work. It is not against the law to get a freeby from work. Some may take the mick but if it doesn't directly affect anyone else then who cares.
I disagree that kids have too much power these days, it's the parents who are lacking in power. Kids need discipline and unfortunatley parents are too scared they'll get locked up for smacking them.
Dee, don't we all?”
Thursday, February 02 2012, 6:12PM
“been a mp it affects all ov us ,,,,its morally wrong ,,it is theft what these mps have done ,,,and all when they get help with all there expenses,,,plus we give them credit cards ect ect ,,,i never got help with my bills ive always paid what i owed ,,i havent seen any proof of our mps paying all there bills and there on double the wage of any average fella ???????????
we here it all the time of kids turning to there parents saying touch me and ill get u done ,it happens all the time ???
i confused how u think its the university's fault though ??????????????”

“Universities offer stupid degree courses at debt encouraging prices for a start (Surfing with with David Beckam Social Studies) and then allow non nationals to study at a fraction of the cost. These non nationals then usually go and get the good jobs on offer because we are then scared to go and do a hard days work.
I think the MP situation is a case of them taking the mick out of a completely farcical system. It is usually their superiors or whoever signs off these expences who have caused this problem. I'd say that anyone who is able to claim back milage for their comapany car for instance always adds a couple of extra miles on to their expences sheet. It's not just MP's.
Agree on the kids front but shouldn't be like that.”

“I don't know about the credit cards, but I know for a fact that the food and drinks in the House of Commons isn't free - the food and drink is cheaper than average which is a cheek, though.”
