“At least 50% of the population want out of the EU according to polls, strange that governments are unwilling to put it to the vote.
It's strange when our government commits our service personnel around the globe to protect democracy and yet we don't live in one ourselves.

“To really find out how sceptical the Brits are about getting out of the UK, how about a government petition on the issue? 100,000 votes for exiting the EU could force it to to be debated in the House of Commons.”

Why not start your own e-petition? Or do a search on the government web site and sign the ones already there? Hurry though as the one with the most signatures (a little over 18,000) finishes in 11 days time.

Thanks for that, petition signed. I think will have a shot at new petition. At least there is now quite a lot of exposure about the disadvantages and costs of beinga member of the EU.” -

“Whilst we're chucking stats around... At least 50% of the population are not qualified to make a judgement on the overall cost/benefit of being in the EU.
We do live in a democracy. Not a good one since the majority of the population are completely diengaged or ignorant, but that is our own fault.
Getting a separate vote on a particular policy does not mean that it is not a democracy.
Oh, sorry. Forgot to write 'fact' in capitals to make sure you all know that it is a valid argument rather than just an idiot spouting his opinion... FACT... There you go.”
