Your comment about my comments is becoming boring as it seems to be on every thread. Here's an idea. Stop whinging and either start your own non-boring thread or post something relevant on the existing ones.
And change your name. You're hardly a 'new lad' anymore.”

“Cabinet Merlot,
I agree Fruit is fantastic, the HCC need to leave it to evolve naturally and support the people promoting it. They are being very difficult over allowing A boards etc to draw shoppers in from town on market days. It is a great place with loads of atmosphere and will go from strength to strength if the powers that be stay away!”

“How can anyone have the last word Not-so-newlad?
The forums are always open to have further comments added. It's not my choice if I am the last to post. It's everyone else's.
Including you.
And as for not replying, I'm sure you will return from holiday eventually and the first thing you'll do is log on to see if I have. LOL”

“@ Missfoodlove
You could well be right about letting things evolve without outside interference but more awareness of that it is there would be handy. There are not to many posts reflecting what is actually good about the city and I think Hull folk in general can't see the wood for the trees.
Many musems are free, and in the city centre, and although art may not be on a lot of peoples must see lists Ferens has some wonderful pictures to look at for thei sheer magnificence. The old Grammer School has re-creations of old time classrooms and a look at Hull from many decades ago. Upstairs has many excellent copies of Egyptian artifacts ( topical at the moment if a Hull City fan) and an actual mummy.
Fruit may blossom as an art type district but its more than that, I would liken it to a mini bazzar, I hope it flourishes.”

"Any way that's it till such times that i feel that I have something constructive to add to any posters comments"
So what was so constructive about your previous comment on here? All you had to do was spend a few minutes reading the posts to know what the current situation is. Unless you think that the rest of us are posting on some secret threads that you are not party to. It is none of your business what my relationship with anyone is, but once again, I'm flattered that was your first - and only - thought on coming back on here.”

“Just found these nearly-new-lad and they CERTAINLY read to me that you are not coming on here and posting again. Especially COMMENTS. Yes you are now saying that you will pass COMMENTS - though what else you can pass on here I don't know.

I would not call my last input a post in the true sense, just a thank you to those that entertain me , with the addition of comments as to why etc
I'll not be posting on a topic or post a thread , I'll just sit back and read all the back biting and one-up- manship posts that get placed on this forum site , with a chuckle good eh !!!
Oh !!! and maybe pass the odd agreement but not comment ."”

"You can have the last word (again) I will not reply or raise to your bait as its getting very boring , a little like you good self really . TTFN"
But you are replying newlad. Every time you come on here to answer me. And not only did you reply once, you replied twice.
And as for research, I don't have to go far. All your contradictions are on this thread. Duhhhh.
ps Are you saying that children aren't human?”
“This is not a rant at anyone in particular but in general about the apathy of Hull folk towards their city. Yes there are many things wrong, and we all know most of them, but I want to focus on a group of people who are trying to bring something positive, and unique in my mind, to the city centre.
I have been vaguely familiar with attempts at reviving the former Humber Street Fruit market as a kind of arts centre and yes I was sceptical about it all. But I have visited the area a couple of times now and my scepticism was out of order. What I actually found was a very enthusiastic group of people who have the basis to make use of dilapidated unused buildings and turn them into a thriving community.
You fancy home made preserves? You got it, you fancy home made food, you got along with beer, a cafe, bric a bac galore and stuff more suitable to a bazaar. But there again that maybe what it is, there is a music recording studio, and yes you can rent a studio for all of you budding pop stars, there are shops selling a diverse range of goods and even a workshop where you can learn to make your own jewellery.
It may be small beginnings but none the less the enthusiasm shown by all, even on a wet damp and dull Sunday, was enlightening. My biggest surprise was a gallery that was open and in fact it was the boardroom of a fruit merchant called Rhodes, no I didn't know about them either, but the it was like stepping back into the 1940's/50's as some of the artefacts on show were amazing, in fact the whole area is turning into an amazing concave of activity.
The next market day is April 21st and for a chance to see and savour something starting to happen in Hull then please, if you can, spare a few hours of your time and visit Humber Street. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised, don't be put off by the artist area label, its much more than that although there is some art on display. If you walk Castle Street is a pain but otherwise give it a try, its worth it.”
