“Anyway Georgewriter, I've had a word with my shrinks and they say that (1.) for someone to call themselves 'George Harrison', (2.) For them then to accuse yours truly of being the said George Harrison and (3.) for them to have had a good Christmas using one dog in a bathroom, a rabbit, a candle and a new lappy is a little absurd. I said "She'll thank me for posting that message".
Anyway, hope you had a lovely peaceful one. xx”

“newlad, no need to sit in the naughty corner. You've done no wrong. I'm not a miserable Parker. I simply hope everyone had a lovely Christmas.
reallyyoung_G, especially you.
steveodore, your hilarious quips maintain my sanity. Perhaps I should grow up? I think not!”

“steveodore, it was purely the uncanniness of your astute mind my friend. Although, when there was talk of us moving into the West wing of dore towers I remember thinking 'oh dear, bang goes a truly wonderful friendship'. Glad you took it on the chin buddy. A sense of humour truly is to laugh with the topic, especially when the topic is about oneself, i find hu hu.”

“...young_G, it was me who wanted the truce. You said 'On yer bike' . You still refer to me far more than i do you but the difference is, I chuckle and admit it. You don't chuckle and would never. So i'm afraid you can't get out of it. Game set and match to my lovely self i feel. ;)))”

“Sadly, for the young men of The Gambia, not all middle aged women looking to blow their recent windfall on a new husband looked like Felicity Kendal ;)

“You see that is where I beg to differ, because there is not one person i can think of that I could say would make my skin crawl. Much less someone I've only exchanged cyber-words with on a Forum. And I'm Toby by the way as in 'hope the sun's shining where you are'.
What you seem to forget is that, although other members on the sidelines may not comment, they'll raise their eyebrows over the skin-crawl comment and one by one, they'll see you for what you are luvvy. As in 'lost the plot_G' maybe, only saying to help you keep your head up.
These things can be deleted, yes, forgotten, perhaps not. Just for reference, mind, no other reason. When you say "someone's threatening to attack me in the park" people will scratch their chin and say "er, ludicrous". Just saying. Whereas, with a truce it works both ways. But of course your skin will still crawl, only you'll know though.”

“Anyway, back to the thread, I spent Xmas day with my two but have had a few days with my girlfriend with her family at Sunderland. We've done this before and i've thoroughly enjoyed it. Next year I don't intend leaving Hull and will be having the full holiday here.”

After the displays that you have given us on here, that is quite minor in comparison.
No but seriously, it's a forum - not real life. Is't that what you keep telling me because, if it is, it doesn't seem to click with you.”

“Er, not miserable you'll be glad to know. I merely stated that i will perhaps be keeping the full holiday for MY children rather than spending the majority of it with someone elses family as stated above. please try to keep up. Not miserable look.... ;{))) Sorry if 'not being miserable' makes your skin crawl. What a very, very strange comment that is.”

Just pointing out that you started the thread with:
"Has anyone had a really horrible or miserable Christmas? "
Then wrote:
"Anyway, back to the thread, I spent Xmas day with my two but have had a few days with my girlfriend with her family at Sunderland."
Don't think you thought that reply through did you?”

“Sensational, you will be running out of names soon! I had a happy time at Christmas thank you. It was my first time without all three little Foodloves home for Christmas and that made me a little sad! He did telephone us though so we all got to have a chat.I am blessed to have such a fab family and friends but I feel a little spoilt, next year I would like to make some changes, I have read about people that do so much for others at Christmas and with the agreement of the family I think we should forgo some of the luxuries and try and make a bit of difference somewhere. I loved the story of the Hull cafe owner who opened on Christmas day so people who were alone had company for lunch, that's what Christmas is really all about!”
