“...and how true that is woz. Then they say you don't talk any sense! If I'd have realised how quick my life was going to fly by I might have done a bit more with it. Now that I've got even less of it I'm on here listening to all the cranks disrespecting me. Present company and many other members excepted. The haterz know who they are.”

“Some lemon juice is yellow. Shall i get you a bottle to prove it? I have one in my fridge.
Sound advice from a forum member that knows (Geoffie). I'll make it a resolution for the New Year if we all don't explode. Wonder who will remember and say "thought you were leaving"?
Got it!”

“Thank you for your (spooky, er nearly worrying) concern about my well being, it's made by a firm called 'Kate's Kitchen'. No sign of any e-numbers but I never read labels, that would be the foodlove. Anyway, glad to know you care, as steveodore recently pointed out! I like him more every day.”

“Best piece of advice from my grandad, who was the wisest man I have ever met; "There are times you should pretend you're daft. People leave you alone, you get no hassle and you are the last person to get tasked with unnecessary responsibility". He died at 85. Happy, stress-free, loved, respected and content.”

“Fifteen now eh? This is one of those posts that you can add to as many times as you wish with a little interesting fact, without some numbsk... er, person counting the entries. So, come on gw, get with the beat. And your answer is "I wouldn't give you the satisfaction".
Pity. You'd go up the ratings, and it's all about the ratings isn't it?”

“ghostwriter69
You were offered a third of £700
You came across as a person of attitude so the offer was withdrawn
The original question
What is the best piece of advice that you have ever been given?
Drop the attitude!
ps
"14 out of 26 posts on this thread so far. That's more than half"
Looks like the dj is taking your crown and in such a good natured way too”

“MJWhyatt
Only there wasn't a lottery win and there wasn't an offer was there?
There was just a rather silly attempt to try and find out something about me through a facebook site.
You can pretend to be affronted all you like, but as for me coming across as a person of attitude when we have had numerous run ins in the past - so you hadn't noticed then?
Plus the whole initial gripe seemed to be that I hadn't given my details. I gave a number of options, none of them to do with me. So what had my attitude to do with anything, lady?”

“There are some members on here that might begrudge a sugar in your tea. I wonder what MJ would have done with this classified information? MJ, what would you have done with this classified information? Surely you wouldn't have used this to bring someone down? And if you would how would you have done it?
Little_Ole_G, I'm afraid that you may have to supply a certain someone with info soon because if you don't you will be me and I will be you.”

“Gw69: Not all the ex Eastern Bloc countries are in the EU, and all but the most idiotic of people would fail to understand which countries I was referring to.
You have posted on the forum previously about the location of the dogs you want to save.
I hope that helps.”

"MJWhyatt, so you are saying there is a dog starving to death in the Eastern Bloc because of GW69's attitude?
Shame on you Ghostwriter!"
Err - I thought that you had started a thread about not giving to animal charities and that if a dog is hungry, so what”

"Little_Ole_G, I'm afraid that you may have to supply a certain someone with info soon because if you don't you will be me and I will be you."
No need of that. She gave herself away on the charity thread by answering a comment made by flossy addressed to you and Little_Ole_G as 'pippa27'.
Karma you see - and irony - considering that the topic was Alzheimer's”

“Now I'll bet ten pence that you won't get it in the neck off the Quidshop's hat for using this terrible disease in your flippant and 'fun' usage. Matk my words. Hey how about a truce till boxing day?
I'll start "ghostwriter is my idea of festive sparkle".
Despite my obvious sickly feeling it's now your turn to say something beautiful about moi........ (quick, I'm holding my breath here......)”

“GW69: your attempts to 'win' this discussion are entertaining. The thread I started asked the question about giving to animal charities, it was not against it. I even stated I was neutral. In fact, if you count me giving tuna to the cat, I have given more to animals charities than I have any other.
Want to try again?”

“dj,
What point are you trying to make?
Asking a fellow forum member if they have alzheimers for no other reason than that they mentioned it in a post is, in my opinion, making light of a serious illness that you understand nothing about.
Taking bets on my response to another member is totally pointless. GW`s usage was neither flippant nor fun, it was a valid point.”

“pippa
Why are you still posting as Little_Old_G?
"your attempts to 'win' this discussion are entertaining."
I don't need to 'win' this discussion. It's a thread about the best advice you have been given. Are you getting confused again? First you don't know who you are logged in as and now you don't know what thread you're on. LOL.
And if you are still holding your breath between two posts, posted 5 minutes apart, you might not be posting again.

“dj,
anyone who`s had it?
Just goes to show your total ignorance on the subject. You can once have had Chicken pox or measles but not alzheimers. It kills you. You do not recover from it. The fact that twice recently you have asked members whether they `have it` show your contempt.
If we had `it` we would not be typing on here. One of the first signs of alzheimers is the loss of the ability to read and write.”

Perhaps people of your age, but you keep forgetting, most of us aren't as old as you.
Hope that helps.”

“This advice was given to me by a Catholic Priest when I was 15 years old.
'Whatever you decide to do in life, it is paramount that you join your workplace Trade Union'.
An excellent piece of advice from Father Franco, he was from the the North East and a Red through and through. However, a word of warning and he didn't mention this. If you decide to progress and become a Shop Steward, be warned, it can become a curse at times!
Happy Yuletide and a prosperous New Year to all on this Forum.
Apollo”

“Our shop steward used to fight tooth and nail for us, then half a dozen 'yes' men would ask for a secret ballot and then, lo and behold 90% of the workforce would vote for a 4% rise. The rest of us would be tearfully wringing our hands whilst the directors of the company would be guffawing into their Jack Daniels.”
“Here's a little debate for all fellow forum animals.... What is the best piece of advice that you have ever been given? I'll start: "Never take life too seriously, you're never gonna get out of it alive"! Not exactly Oscar Wilde perhaps but wise words indeed. Got one better? It's nice to share. By the way, I'll get earache for posting another debate but my shoulders are broad enough to cope with all that....”
