“Hi woodtouch1 try the hullcc.gov.uk (hull speed cameras), as for the police a friend of mine is a traffic officer ,i know he is based in hull but can be placed any where in the region any place where their are needed really.
I think a general lack of police officers on the roads is a thing we will see more of , i drove down to exeter and kent not so long back and same as you i didnt see hardly any traffic police at all. I think the cameras are a good idea in the correct place but you cant beat having the police out and about, at the end of the day cameras dont catch drunk drivers or dangerous drivers,or any other type of driver who breaks the law.
it would be usefull if the funds generated by the cameras were used by the local councils instead of going back to central government, this could fund more officers on the road.”

“Thanks hullbloke81_ for that , I will look it up, and I agree
with what you have said - you know we are in a sad state .

I am so sorry you had cause to remind me about leaving out
female Police Officers Missfoodlove it is not like me to slip
up like that - I always make a rough draft out first and did
on this occasion but somehow when I typed it out I did refer
to them as policemen - once again I apologise .”

“How many do you think you should have seen ?

Do you have a specific number in mind?”

“no particular number but more than one every 50 miles would be good, you see more ambulances and paramedics parked up or driving around than you do police for some reason.”

“The police are seriously understaffed now.

I was a witness to an assault last Saturday afternoon and the police have no one to show me some 'mug shots' to see if I can recognise the attacker until next Tuesday.”

When i asked the 2 officers what was going on they said they had taken over the case and they were on night duty. They were obviously put out by looking into it. Beggers belief realy.”

“I think most people behave themselves on a Thursday night. Hence why the police were all playing Scrabble at the station.”
