Challenge Cup at Hull school
07:00 - 09-May-2008
The Challenge Cup was at Endeavour School ahead of the fifth-round of the Cup this weekend.
It was the only school in the city to get a glimpse of the silverware.
The school was chosen by Hull KR ahead of their home tie with Huddersfield Giants.
Rovers last won the competition in 1980 with a 10-5 victory over city rivals Hull FC.
The Cup was in the city to help raise awareness of the game.
Competition sponsors Leeds Met Carnegie are visiting all the towns and cities where clubs have home fixtures in the fifth round.
The school based a full day of studies around the visit of the Cup.
English lessons were turned into a match-like atmosphere with pupils making up their own chants, maths covered Cup statistics, and PE lessons focused on the inspiration provided by the trophy.
Hull KR head coach Justin Morgan said: “It's fantastic that the Challenge Cup is visiting our area ahead of the next round.”
“The game against Huddersfield is certainly going to be a tough one, but should we win, we're one step closer to realising the Wembley dream.
Hull FC play Widnes away in their fifth-round tie.
