Lots going on at Hull New Theatre
There'll be everything from invasions of gangsters for Bugsy Malone to a flying car in a stage performance of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the theatre in Kingston Square, Hull city centre.
Along the way, there's comedies, dramas and top one-nighters in a programme of events guaranteed to have something for everyone.
The singing starts with a production of Calamity Jane (March 23 to 27) from members of the Hessle Theatre Company.
This will be followed by performances from The Sopranos, Joe Longthorne, The Chuckle Brothers and The Bon Jovi Experience before the famous Rocky Horror Show rolls into town for six nights of fun, frolics and frivolity from April 12 to 17.
The musical season continues the following week with a Northern Theatre School production of Bugsy Malone (April 22 to 24) – the tale of the legendary gangster and his childhood sweetheart.
A few days later, The Neil Sedaka Story – Laughter In The Rain (April 26 to May 1) will be on show. A new musical telling the story of triumph against the odds, it features classic hits such as Amarillo and Stairway To Heaven.
There'll be a performance of Oklahoma from July 6 to 10 including hits like Oh What A Beautiful Morning, People Will Say We're In Love and, of course, the rousing title song, with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (June 8 to 26) bringing the season of musicals to a close.
If foot-tapping and sing-along entertainment isn't your thing, there's plenty of other things on offer, too.
Billy J McGregor stars in The Elvis Collection (January 16) and former Stars in Their Eyes winner Gary Mullen reinvents the legendary Freddie Mercury in One Night Of Queen (January 23).
Later in the year, there's also Derren Brown: Enigma – a three-night run of mind-boggling tricks and illusion from March 11 to 13.
And for families, An Audience With The Chuckle Brothers (April 8) is something not to be missed, as is the Roald Dahl classic George's Marvellous Medicine (May 25 to 29), which guarantees fun and fizzing magic aplenty.
Tickets for all shows can be purchased from the Hull City Council booking office under Hull City Hall, Carr Lane, Hull city centre, or by calling: (01482) 226655.
