Friday, May 23, 2008, 00:00

Classlane Media has made it to the last three competitors in the Royal Television Society's Yorkshire Best Promotional Award.

The Hessle company will go head-to-head with ITV and British News Training Productions for the accolade.

The company, based in The Weir in Hessle, was nominated for the award by national hairdressing chain Saks.

Classlane produced the hairdresser's promotional video campaign Indulgence to highlight its signature hairstyles created by Andrew Barton, star of Channel 4's Ten Years Younger and current British Hairdresser Of The Year.

Managing director Dave Beasley said he was “pleasantly surprised” the company had got so far.

He said: “When we got the call it was fantastic. Everyone was over the moon.

“I genuinely thought we wouldn't get this far. It's great that we are up there. I think it is the first time a company from this area has got so far.”

Classlane shot the video for the national hairdressers over a five-day period in London.

The hairstyles on the video will feature in all the chain's 140 salons, as well as in magazines such as Hello! and OK.

Classlane recently filmed behind the scenes at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) awards.

The footage as been uploaded on to Bafta's website.
