All of the produce on sale at Barmston Organic Farm Shop has been grown or reared without the use of chemicals or drugs.
The new shop will complement Tony and Colleen Hunt's strict organic farming system at Elm Tree Farm in Barmston, near Bridlington.
A traditional wagon shed on the farm has been turned into the shop, which is a diversification venture to generate more income from their Barmston Organics business.
Business development grants worth a total of £10,000 were given by Yorkshire Agricultural Society's Growing Routes initiative and East Riding Council's Leader+ fund.
Mrs Hunt, 40, said: “We already sell produce from our farm to about 100 customers in Bridlington and Driffield and at farmers' markets.
“But for a while now customers have been asking why we don't open a farm shop because more and more people want to eat organic food grown to the Soil Association's standards.”
Mr and Mrs Hunt organically farm 270 acres at Barmston, producing vegetables, cereals, beef from their own herd of cattle, and lamb from the farm's flock.
Organic farming severely restricts the use of artificial chemical fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, farmers rely on developing healthy, fertile soil, and weeding.
Animals are reared without the routine use of drugs, antibiotics and wormers common in intensive livestock farming.
Barmston Farm Shop, which opens on Wednesday, will be open four days a week – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday – to start with, from 9.30am to 6pm.
