Yeaman defends World Cup withdrawal

Kirk Yeaman is confident of being a better player after making one of the hardest decisions of his life to abandon his World Cup dream.

The 24-year-old Hull FC centre has told England coach Tony Smith he will not be available for the forthcoming tournament in Australia.

Yeaman has been one of the form centres in Super League in recent months and was expected to be named in the squad but, with his wife expecting the couple's second child around the conclusion of the tournament, he has put his family first.
