Jacqueline Jossa is the young actress who plays Lauren Branning in EastEnders. With quite a few gritty story lines under her belt, it came as no surprise when Jacqueline won the award for Best Newcomer at the recent National Television Awards.

Earlier in the year, Jacqueline styled her hair with a heavy, blunt fringe. She is now growing her fringe out so is wearing her hair with more movement and swept across to a side. Doing this helps soften and blend a longer fringe with the rest of your hair and means it is easier to cope with. Accessories will also help pin back a longer fringe; always grip just under the temple area and avoid looking like a schoolgirl.

To get this look at home, start with a good blow-dry. Apply Va Va Voom Mousse through your hair and, using a large, round brush, dry small sections of hair in the opposite direction to which you want it to fall. Make sure you get as much volume as possible around the crown area, as this gives the final style height.

When all of your hair is dry, put some large Velcro rollers in the crown area and spray with a little Defrizz Shine and Control Spray. While the rollers are still in your hair, use your Sexy Waves and Curls Magic Wand to create the softness through the mid-lengths and ends – just wrap large sections of hair spirally around the barrel, hold for a few seconds and then release.

Remove the Velcro rollers very gently and add a little back-combing close to your roots. Next, smooth your hair back into a low ponytail, and secure with a covered hair band. Don't scrape the hair back into the pony tail, as you still want to keep the volume around the top and side. Don't worry if shorter pieces of hair fall out, let these fall loosely into softer waves to frame your face.

With the ponytail, you can do one of two things. The first is tuck the pony tail underneath itself and secure with grips so all of your hair is hidden within the hair you have pulled back. The second is a simple chignon – just twist the pony tail around and secure in a low-slung bun with grips.

If your hair is shorter, the tucked- under ponytail is the one to go for, or for longer hair, the chignon is the best option. Finish the style with some Diamond Shine Spray.
